Casting coup
Stomp’s performers are at the pinnacle of power percussion, wielding a broom with a panache and tunefulness rarely seen. Despite their incredible musical talent few, if any, have been household names; they shun the limelight and premieres to care, instead, for the unmistakeable cacophonous icons, the lids, poles and sinks that are Stomp’s most lasting symbols.

This show has not only performed at Sadler’s Wells, the Vaudeville Theatre, the Ambassadors Theatre and numerous other venues across the world, it has also been seen at the Academy Awards where an estimated audience of more than one billion experienced its pulsating beat, and the 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony.
Olivier Awards history
Back in 1994, Stomp’s Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas were awarded the prize for Best Theatre Choreographer. Despite being eligible for the Audience Award every year the award has run, this international hit has never taken home the public-voted accolade. “I’ve been with the show for 13 years now. The show’s so great and it’s constantly evolving. We keep it fresh all the time, we change routines and, because all the cast members know a couple of different roles, there’s a different cast pretty much every night. You never see the same show twice!”
