The Olivier Awards nominations are packed with talent this year, and you can still catch loads of the nominated shows and actors on the West End right now! Check out our round-up of the Olivier Award-nominated shows you can still see!

Back To The Future – The Musical, Adelphi Theatre

Booking until: 23 October

Back To The Future received a whopping 7 nominations this year! Olly Dobson and Hugh Coles both received nominations for their performances as Marty McFly and George McFly, and the whole production is also one of this year’s Mastercard Best New Musical nominees.

Based on the well-loved cult classic film, Back To The Future – The Musical has the Huey Lewis And The News hits from the film as well as a bunch of brand new songs. Get whirled back to the 80s… then the 50s… then the 80s again on a wild ride!

You can check out our interviews with Glen Ballard and Alan Silvestri and with Huey Lewis, who are behind the music in this rip-roaring, time-travelling triumph.

Cabaret, The Kit Kat Club at the Playhouse Theatre

Cabaret

Booking until: 16 April

Cabaret hasn’t been on in the West End since 2012 – when Will Young was nominated for an Olivier himself! – but this new revival has taken London by storm! The musical has topped the charts this year with 11 Olivier nominations, including nods for Jessie Buckley, Elliot Levey, Eddie Redmayne and Lisa Sadovy for their performances.

The cast has changed over now, but you can still catch Elliot Levey in his role as Herr Schultz in this tale of the inhabitants of the Kit Kat Klub and what happens to their community and their individual stories in the fall of the Weimar Republic in 30s Germany.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella, Gillian Lynne Theatre

Booking until: 19 February 2023

Victoria Hamilton-Barritt has been nominated as Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her role as the Stepmother in Cinderella and we can see why! As talented at singing as she is hilarious, she brings new life to the fairy-tale character with a constant sneer and perfect comedic timing.

You can still catch her in this frankly iconic role and visit the perfect town of Belleville at the Gillian Lynne Theatre now!

The Choir Of Man, Arts Theatre

Closing 3 April

You’ve got to be quick if you want to catch new hit The Choir Of Man, as it closes at the Arts Theatre in a few weeks! Nominated in the Best Entertainment or Comedy play category, it’s a juzebox musical not quite like anything you’ve ever seen before! Narrated by writer Ben Norris, it’ll take you on a tour of love, laughs, male friendships and the good old British institution – the pub.

And you can even get a pint on stage before the show!

The Drifters Girl, Garrick Theatre

Booking until: 12 February 2023

One of the Mastercard Best New Musical hopefuls for this year, The Drifters Girl tells the tale of the world-famous vocal group The Drifters and the woman behind the scenes who made them. Starring the wonderful Beverley Knight as Faye Treadwell, and an ensemble cast of four who play every single role in the story, it’s a tour-de-force of talent.

Plus, you’ll definitely recognise more of The Drifters’ hits than you think!

Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Musical, Lyric Theatre

Booking until: 29 January 2023

With nominations for Gabrielle Brooks and Arinzé Kene, the show is also up for Mastercard Best New Musical and Best New Score or Orchestrations. Following the life and career of the world-renowned Bob Marley, the new musical features all the songs you love and maybe some you don’t know.

Learn more about the man that became the legend!

Disney’s Frozen, Theatre Royal Drury Lane

Booking until: 23 October

It won’t be a surprise to anyone who’s seen Frozen that it’s been nominated for both costume and lighting design! Stephanie McKeon, who plays Ana, has also received a nomination and the Disney favourite is obviously also up for Mastercard Best New Musical.

Perfect for kids, but also for the big kid in you, this beautiful production truly is magical.

Life Of Pi, Wyndham’s Theatre

Booking until: 4 September

Life Of Pi is in joint second place for most nominations this year, coming in at an impressive nine! Lolita Chakrabarti’s adaptation of Yann Martel’s book has been nominated in every single backstage category, and you can see why. An absolute spectacle in storytelling, set and movement, you’re truly transported to the waves of the Pacific Ocean with Pi, and it’s been nominated as Best New Play to boot.

Hiran Abeysekera received a much deserved nomination for his lead role as Pi, and in an Oliviers first, the seven actors who play the tiger have been nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.

Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Piccadilly Theatre

Booking until: 23 July

I mean just looking at the trailer you’ll be in no doubt that Moulin Rouge deserves its nominations for costume, choreography and set. The whole of the Piccadilly Theatre has been transformed into the Moulin Rouge; moving windmill and huge elephant and all.

Another one of the Mastercard Best New Musical nominees, you’ll also be bale to catch Clive Carter in his nominated role as Harold!

2:22 A Ghost Story, Criterion Theatre

7 May – 4 September

2:22 is one of the plays in the running for Best New Play this year. Danny Robbins’ spooky new play also saw a nomination for Lily Allen in her West End debut role, and the sound design – which plays an important role in building the tension in the play – is also up for an award.

While the original cast, and the second starry line-up we interviewed in the video above, have closed now, the play is set to return to the West end in May, and you can book your tickets now!

Anything Goes, Barbican Theatre

25 June – 3 September

Anything Goes is tied with Life Of Pi this year, with an astounding 9 nominations, including acting nominations in all four categories – for Carly Mercedes Dyer, Sutton Foster, Robert Lindsay, Gary Wilmot – as well as a host of backstage accolades.

You might have caught it on the BBC at Christmas, but the production is coming back to the Barbican this summer and nothing beats seeing it live.
