Arriving on British shores this month, let the bells ring out for Notre Dame De Paris! Twenty years after its Parisian debut, the worldwide hit musical will be playing its 5000th performance this month – and it falls at the culmination of its London Coliseum run.
Playing from Wednesday 23 – Sunday 27 January, Notre Dame De Paris will star members of the current world tour principal cast: Angelo Del Vecchio, Hiba Tawaji, Daniel Lavoie, Richard Charest, Alyzée Lalande, Martin Giroux and Jay.
And audiences can look forward to seeing the show in all its original glory; this is the original French production, with Richard Cocciante’s compositions and Luc Plamondon’s lyrics, accompanied by English surtitles and, excitingly, the magnificent ENO Orchestra, conducted by Matthew Brind.
There’ll also be an international ensemble of singers, dancers and acrobats on hand to tell the tale of hunchbacked cathedral bell-ringer, Quasimodo, and his yearning love for the gypsy Esmeralda.
Ahead of the twentieth anniversary performance, producer Nicolas Talar said: “Myself and our wonderful cast are delighted to be bringing this classic tale to the London to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary. Almost two centuries after the novel captured imaginations, we have been fortunate enough to travel all over the world with this fabulous show.”
The acclaim of 23 countries worldwide can’t be wrong: Notre Dame De Paris promises to be a rare opportunity to catch an internationally lauded masterpiece.
