Casting has been announced for the HighTide production of Al Smith’s debut play Harrogate. Nigel Lindsay joins Sarah Ridgeway, who starred in the original production at HighTide Festival 2015, for the London premiere at the Royal Court Theatre in October.
Nigel’s theatre credits include: Guys And Dolls (Phoenix Theatre); Bull (Young Vic); Speed-the-Plow (Playhouse) and Shrek The Musical (Theatre Royal Drury Lane, for which he received an Olivier Award nomination for Best Actor In A Musical). Sarah is known for her TV work, including Miss Marple, Call The Midwife and Holby City.
Nigel will play Him, and Sarah will play Her, in Al Smith’s debut professional production about one man who craves the past but knows his desire for it will destroy his family. Time passes. Roles change. People become different versions of themselves.
Harrogate will be directed by Richard Twyman, the newly appointed Artistic Director of English Touring Theatre. Richard was previously Associate Director (International) at the Royal Court Theatre from 2013 – 2016, where his directing work included Torn, You For Me For You, Fireworks, The Djinns Of Eidgah and PIIGS.
The show plays at the Royal Court Theatre from 20 – 29 October, with a UK tour from 1 – 16 November.
