The autumn 2009 edition of Access London Theatre is now available, listing all audio-described, captioned and sign language interpreted performances taking place in London’s Theatreland between September and December 2009. For the first time the brochure also incorporates a venue access guide including information for over 70 London theatres.
The autumn brochure, which is the 11th edition of the publication, is the biggest one yet, with over 140 entries for 80 different productions. With a massive variety of show genres to choose from, the brochure lists everything from new writing to opera, West End musicals to Shakespearean classics.
The new venue access guide contains detailed information including full theatre addresses, contact numbers and email addresses, locations of disabled toilets, information for wheelchair users and even the number of stairs from the foyer to each level of the theatre. The section is also available to download as a separate document from Official London Theatre’s Venue Access page.
The Access London Theatre brochure is an invaluable tool for theatre lovers who may find it difficult to see or hear what is happening onstage. As well as the new venue access guide, the brochure includes a description for each show, details of ticket prices, how to book, information about the types of assisted performance and a list of useful organisations and websites.
The brochure is free of charge and available in print, on tape or in Braille. To order a copy, please call the Society of London Theatre on 020 7557 6700 or email enquiries@solttma.co.uk
Access London Theatre is also available to download as a PDF from Official London Theatre’s Access page, where you can also download the audio-described section with no images or logos in rich-text format.
