New Matildas win the lottery – and so could you

The Royal Shakespeare Company’s multi-award-winning production of Matilda The Musical has announced that two young actresses will join the enchanting cast from 13 March. Sara Munday and Olivia Wells will join Lily-Mae Evans and Savannah Read as the magical Matilda in the London company of Dennis Kelly and Tim Minchin’s adaptation of the Roald Dahl classic.

In addition to Sara and Olivia, the other young performers joining the cast are: Isabella Aleppo, Bobby Beynon, Jacob Bland, Mia Byers, Imogen Darwen, Darmani Eboji, Asher Ezequiel, Daniel Etim Finnemore,  Ashirah Foster Notice, Ruben Garcia, Mikey Impiazzi, Taziva-Faye Katsande, Jackson Laing, Sadie Victoria Lim, Madison Locks, Colby Mulgrew, Jack Riley and Sam Winser. They will join Omar Cain-Francis, Lucy Cheesman, Liberty Greig, Lauren Henson, Vaidile Jonikas, Mia McLoughlin and Martin Soosaipillai who will continue in the roles of Bruce, Lavender, Amanda and the pupils at Crunchem Hall.

As well as its new cast, Matilda The Musical has also announced its first ever online ticket lottery.

It was also announced that there will be a brand new way to buy tickets for the spellbinding show. From today (5 March 2018), a rolling online lottery will offer participants the chance to buy two Band A tickets for £25 each. The lottery can be entered at any time for any and all performances in a two-week period. The lucky winners will be notified 3 to 5 days before the performance and be given a 24-hour window to book their tickets online.

16 £5 tickets will continue to be held for each performance, available to 16-25-year-olds only. They will only be available to purchase in person at the Cambridge Theatre box office at 10am on the day of the performance.

Matilda The Musical has won 86 major international awards, including 16 for Best Musical. The hit show is now the longest-running production to play at the Cambridge Theatre and has been seen by 3,000,000 audiences members.

Performances of Matilda The Musical at the Cambridge Theatre are currently on sale until 10 February 2019.
