New cast for Woman In Black

First Published 17 April 2008, Last Updated 18 April 2008

One of the West End’s longest-running shows, The Woman In Black, welcomes a new cast on 3 December as Sean Baker and Ben Porter take over the two-hander from current cast Michael Burrell and Dominic Marsh.

Based on Susan Hill’s novel and adapted by Stephen Mallatratt, The Woman In Black is a ghostly thriller that has been scaring patrons at the Fortune since 1989. The story follows a keen young solicitor who is sent to wind up the affairs of a recently deceased woman, and gradually pieces together the details of her strange, reclusive life alone in a mysterious house. Years later, he recounts his experiences, desperate to exorcise the ghosts of the past.

Baker’s recent London stage credits include The Schuman Plan at the Hampstead last year, Richard II at the Old Vic, Julius Caesar at the Barbican, The Life Of Galileo at the BAC and Becket at the Haymarket. Porter appeared in Tom Stoppard’s The Invention Of Love at the National and performed a one man show at Theatre 503, The Atheist, earlier this year.CB
