The autumn 2013 Access London Theatre brochure is out now, offering the choice of more than 145 assisted performances taking place across the capital between September and December.
Listing captioned, audio-described, signed and relaxed performances taking place in London theatres during the four-month period, the brochure is an invaluable source of information for those who find it difficult to see or hear what is happening on stage during a theatre performance, as well as individuals with autism and other learning disabilities who could benefit from a more relaxed environment when seeing a show.
The latest issue features a wide range of productions, from hit West End musicals and award-winning plays to operas and Christmas pantomimes, along with details about Minister for Disabled People Esther McVey’s visit to the relaxed performance of The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time and a BSL interpreted Haunted Theatreland walking tour.
As in previous editions, each show listing includes a description of the show, details about pricing, how to book and the service provider, and, for audio-described performances, touch tour availability. In the centre of the brochure, readers will find an updated Venue Access Guide, providing essential information about the access facilities of more than 75 theatres, including contact numbers and email addresses, locations of disabled toilets, information for wheelchair users and details about level access.
The brochure is free of charge and is available in print, on CD and tape, and in Braille. To order a copy, please call the Society of London Theatre on 020 7557 6700 or email enquiries@solttma.co.uk. Alternatively, you can download it as a pdf here or access the audio-described listings in rich text format here.
