Natalie Mendoza joins Miss Saigon

First Published 17 April 2015, Last Updated 17 April 2015

Natalie Mendoza will join current cast members Eva Noblezada, Jon Jon Briones and Hugh Maynard in the hit West End production of Miss Saigon when the legendary musical undergoes its first major cast change in May.

The Australian actress, who was last seen on stage in the National Theatre’s Olivier Award nominated musical Here Lies Love, will play Gigi alongside a cast of Saigon newbies including Chris Peluso, Siobhan Dillon and Sangwoong Jo from 11 May.

Peluso, who recently appeared in the Broadway production of Beautiful – The Carole King Musical, will take on the role of his namesake Chris, replacing Alistair Brammer in the legendary Vietnam War-set musical.

Dillon, who rose to fame on the 2006 series How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? and has since taken on the West End in Ghost The Musical and Cabaret, will take over from Tamsin Carroll to play Ellen.

Replacing Kwang-Ho Hong as Thuy, Korean actor Sangwoong will make his West End debut in the production following performances in Wicked, Les Misérables and Disney’s The Lion King in his native country.

One of London’s best-loved musicals and a Magic Radio Best Musical Revival nominee at this year’s Olivier Awards with MasterCard, Miss Saigon tells the epic story of Kim, a young bar girl orphaned by war who falls in love with an American GI until their lives are torn apart by the fall of Saigon.

The Boublil and Schönberg hit is currently booking at the Prince Edward Theatre until 19 December.

Don’t forget, you can see current Kim, Noblezada, and her fellow cast members perform I’d Give My Life For You at the Olivier Awards ceremony by tuning in to ITV Player, where you can also catch all the exciting highlights from the star-studded ceremony.
