Natalie Andreou joins Wicked

Published 29 December 2014

Natalie Andreou will join the company of Wicked in February when she takes on the role of Standby Elphaba in the hit West End show.

The actress, who was last seen on the London stage as Sherrie in jukebox musical Rock Of Ages during its runs at the Shaftesbury and Garrick Theatre, will follow in the footsteps of current Standby Elphaba, Emma Hatton, who will step up to the coveted role of the iconic green-skinned witch.

Current Elphaba, Jennifer DiNoia, will make her final appearance in Wicked on 31 January, with Andreou and Hatton joining the company, which also includes Savannah Stevenson, Jeremy Taylor, Liza Sadovy and Martyn Ellis, from 2 February.

Featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman, Wicked has been seen by more than 44 million people in 13 countries and is soon to celebrate its 3,500th performance in the West End.

Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, which draws its inspiration from the characters in The Wizard Of Oz, the musical focuses on the friendship between Elphaba and Glinda, and how they came to fulfil their destinies as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Wicked is currently booking at the Apollo Victoria Theatre until 7 November. You can book tickets to the show through us or, for performances from 1 January to 13 February, through our discount ticket promotion Get Into London Theatre.
