Nadia Fall has been appointed the new Artistic Director of Theatre Royal Stratford East, taking over from incumbent Kerry Michael full time from 1 January 2018.

Currently an Associate Director of the National Theatre, Nadia’s directing credits include Hir (Bush Theatre), R And D (Hampstead Theatre), The Suicide, Our Country’s Good, Dara, Hymn, The Doctor’s Dilemma (National Theatre), Chewing Gum Dreams, Home – as writer and director (NT Shed), Way Upstream (Chichester Festival Theatre) and Hobson’s Choice (Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre).

She takes over from Kerry, who has spent 12 years in the post and oversaw the venue’s refurbishment, directing hits including Tanika Gupta’s Love N Stuff and touring The Who musical Tommy, which is currently playing at the theatre.

Nadia said today, “I am absolutely thrilled to have been asked to take on the role of Artistic Director at Theatre Royal Stratford East. It is one of the most beautiful houses steeped in an incredible theatre history that goes back to the great Joan Littlewood.”

“I cannot wait to lead an exciting new chapter that captures the energy of a rapidly growing Stratford and serves its vibrant community as well as audiences across London, building on the dedicated work of Kerry Michael.”
