Richard Mylan, Suzanne Shaw and Nicola Stapleton will star in the world premiere of Baggage at the Arts theatre next month.
Directed by Audrey Cooke, the story of two latter-day likely lads who are reunited by tragedy and try to repair their damaged relationship by taking on the world of online dating, plays for a month from 6 September.
Mylan’s stage credits include Crazy Gary’s Mobile Disco for Paines Plough and Badfinger at the Donmar Warehouse, Stapleton has appeared on stage at the Royal Court in Cockroach Who, Corner Boys, Essex Girls and Four Star Hotel, and Shaw, who first found fame on ITV’s Popstars before becoming part of pop band Hear’Say, has previously starred in Chicago at the Garrick theatre and Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Adelphi.
The talented trio will be joined in the production by television actors Charlie De’ath (Casualty and The Bill) and Dan Wilder (The Dam Busters and The Bomb Plot).
Written by former college friends John Muirhead and Mike Charlesworth, Baggage will open at the Arts theatre following the Olympics-inspired theatrical marathon The Complete World Of Sports (Abridged), which plays until 25 August.
