Ashleigh Gray, Aaron Sidwell, Hannah Levane and Niall Sheehy will join Reece Shearsmith in Cool Rider, the upcoming musical concert that will play for one night only at the Lyric Theatre later this month.
The concert, which will pay homage to American musical film Grease 2 by bringing the love story of Stephanie Zinone and Michael Carrington to the stage, will play two performances at 19:30 and 23:00 on 27 January.
The quartet of musical theatre stars, like their co-star Shearsmith, will take to the stage having previously appeared in a string of West End shows.
Gray, who is best known for her role in hit Oz-based musical Wicked, is well-acquainted with the antics at Rydell High School having appeared in the UK tour of Grease in 2006.
Best known for his long-running role as Steven Beale in BBC soap EastEnders, Sidwell’s most recent work for the London stage includes originating the role of Michael Dork in Olivier Award nominated musical Loserville.
Current star of Les Misérables Sheehy is familiar to many as a finalist on ITV talent search Superstar, while Levane has appeared on stage in West End productions of We Will Rock You and Flashdance.
From bowling alley to burger joint, from sing-along sex education class to talent show, Cool Rider brings the romantic tale made famous in the 1982 film to life with songs including Who’s That Guy?, Score Tonight, Reproduction, Girl For All Seasons, We’ll Be Together and Cool Rider.
The concert will play at the home of Thriller Live for two performances only before the King of Pop’s legendary tunes continue to rock the worlds of Michael Jackson fans the following night.
