Hit Harry Potter parody Potted Potter will – like an exceedingly studious Hermione at the end of levitation class – stay behind for an additional helping of magic, having extended its run in the West End to 21 April.
Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner, the men behind the Olivier Award nominated show, which staggeringly condenses all seven Harry Potter books into 70 minutes of Hogwarts, Hufflepuff and Horcruxes, will be hopping on their Nimbus 2000s and flying into the Garrick theatre from 23 March as part of a world tour.
Described by Official London Theatre’s Charlotte Marshall as “not just a show for Harry Potter buffs, but anyone partial to a bit of chaotic, silly fun and family-friendly banter”, Potted Potter uses endless costumes, brilliant songs, ridiculous props, a generous helping of Hogwarts magic and even a real-life game of Quidditch to bring the story of the well-known boy wizard to life.
While Potted Potter will play matinee performances at the Garrick theatre, in the evening Harry’s ever-useful invisibility cloak will be thrown over the world of wizards, whomping willows and Weasleys, allowing the big wigs and 1980s hits of West End long-runner Rock Of Ages to take centre stage.
