More musical theatre stars will cool ride into the West End on 27 January to pay homage to the all-singing all-dancing 1982 American film Grease 2 with musical concert Cool Rider at the Lyric Theatre.
Among them are former Over The Rainbow contestant Bronté Barbe, original Wicked cast member Nadine Cox, who was most recently seen in the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre’s 2013 production of The Sound Of Music, and The Light Princess’ Kane Oliver Parry.
Spring Awakening and Misfits star Evelyn Hoskins, Joshua Dowen (UK tour of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), and Wicked’s Ben Stott will join them, along with previously announced cast members Reece Shearsmith, Ashleigh Gray, Aaron Sidwell and Hannah Levane.
Completing the ensemble are Amy Bridges, Luke Dart, Joao Diogo, Callum Evans, Beki Hamilton, Ross Harbron, Cameron Hay, Megan Jenkins, Millie-rose Keutenius, Meesha Lyth, Alice Martin, Jordan Matthews, Phil McCloskey, Samuel Morgan-Grahame, Simone Murphy, Parisa Shahmir, Rose Shalloo, Genevieve Taylor, George Tebbutt, Sam Toland, Jessica West and Richard Watkins.
From bowling alley to burger joint, from sing-along sex education class to talent show, Cool Rider brings the romantic tale made famous in the 1980s musical film to life with songs including Who’s That Guy?, Score Tonight, Reproduction, Girl For All Seasons, We’ll Be Together and Cool Rider.
Cool Rider will play two performances at 19:30 and 23:00 at the West End venue that has now been home to Michael Jackson tribute Thriller Live for five years.
