Michelle Gayle joins London cast of Harry Potter And The Cursed Child

Accio new Harry Potter And The Cursed Child cast! As the Olivier Award record-setting show prepares to enter its fourth year in the West End, rehearsals have begun for its next cast – and stage and screen star Michelle Gayle is joining it.

Michelle, who’s perhaps best known for her roles as Hattie Tavernier in BBC’s Eastenders, Belle in Beauty And The Beast’s West End run, and as a smash-hit recording artist, will take on the role of Hermione Granger from 22 May. Her daughter, Rose Granger-Weasley, will be played by Rayxia Ojo.

Continuing in the cast are Jamie Ballard as the Boy Who Lived himself – Harry Potter – as well as Susie Trayling as Ginny, Thomas Aldridge as Ron Weasley, James Howard as Draco Malfoy and Jonathan Case as his son Scorpius Malfoy.

And kicking off rehearsals this week are the remainder of the fourth London cast of Harry Potter And The Cursed Child: Lola Adaja, David Annen, Valerie Antwi, Emma Bown, Adrian Christopher, Craig Connolly, Robert Curtis, Tim Dewberry, Rachelle Diedericks, Blythe Duff, Antony Eden, Jim Fish, Thomas Gilbey, Elliot Grihault, Rosie Hilal, Joseph Horsford, Mia Hudson, William Lawlor, Susan Lawson-Reynolds, Ronnie Lee, Ryan J Mackay, Lucy Mangan, David Mara, Barry McCarthy, Marcus McKinlay, Kathryn Meisle, Gordon Millar, Duncan Shelton, Molly Shenker, Luke Sumner, Mark Theodore, Emma-May Uden, Madeleine Walker and Maddy Yates.

New tickets for the magical production will go on sale on 2 April, with the show opening booking up until 19 January 2020.

Harry Potter And The Cursed Child began life in London with its nine-time Olivier Award-winning production at London’s Palace Theatre, before flying out on its broomstick to Broadway’s Lyric Theatre and Melbourne’s Princess Theatre. Further productions are expected within the next year in San Francisco and Hamburg.
