The Little Angel theatre is to celebrate all things puppet-related with its second annual summer party on 4 July for puppet fans of all ages.
This one day festival takes place in the theatre and the gardens of nearby St Mary’s Church, near Upper St, Islington, where visitors will be treated to free performances of Little Angel’s current show Handa’s Hen, which plays at the venue until 5 July.
Also on offer during the day are backstage tours of the theatre and workshop, the chance to meet the puppets, plus demonstrations and workshops led by professional puppeteers who will teach participants to make their own puppet to take home.
The event kicks off at 13:00 with a parade of carnival puppets made by children from Little Angel’s Saturday Puppet Club. Stalls at the venue will sell Little Angel merchandise and refreshments throughout the afternoon.
Fancy dress, based on the day’s theme Angels And Demons, is heartily encouraged.
