So, the longest-running musical in the world is going through some changes. Don’t worry, it’ll still have all your favourite songs, but things will look a bit different. There’s a brand new Les Misérables cast set to take to the stage at Queen’s Theatre, London, from next month, and we’re absolutely thrilled.

From well-known faces to actors making their professional debuts, here are the new Les Mis cast members in London, where you might have seen them before, and a little bit about those playing your favourite Les Misérables characters.

Dean Chisnall will play Valjean in the Les Misérables cast

Dean Chisnall (Jean Valjean)

Playing the central character and fugitive-on-the-run Jean Valjean in the Les Mis cast from 11 June is Dean Chisnall. Dean’s theatre career has seen him travel all over the UK playing some of your favourite characters. His most recent theatre credits include the UK tour of Blood Brothers, The Secret Diary Of Adrian Mole Aged 13 ¾ The Musical at the Menier Chocolate Factory, and Working at the Southwark Playhouse. You might also recognise him from his turn as the green ogre Shrek on the West End, or from Love Never Dies.

Bradley Jaden will play Javert in the Les Mis cast

Bradley Jaden (Javert)

From 23 July, Bradley Jaden will play Jean Valjean’s adversary, policeman Javert. Bradley is currently starring as heartthrob Fiyero in Wicked. This move will mark his return to the Les Misérables London cast, having originally played Enjolras in the 30th Anniversary cast. Like Dean, he’s also been in Shrek The Musical at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. Plus, you might recognise him from the telly box because he’s been in ITV’s Emmerdale and Sugar Rush on Channel 4.

Amara Okereke will play Cosette in the Les Mis cast

Her credits for the National Youth Music Theatre include The Hired Man at The Other Palace, West Side Story at Manchester Warehouse, and 13 The Musical at the Apollo Theatre.

Taking on the lovelorn role of Eponine is Elena Skye. This isn’t the first time Elena’s dealt with unrequited love, as she’s fresh from playing Lauren in Kinky Boots – the role which marked Elena’s professional debut.
