American actor, singer and comedian Mike McShane will join the previously announced Faye Tozer and Dylan Turner in the world premiere of The Tailor-Made Man at the Arts theatre next month.
Best known for his on screen appearances in British comedy show Whose Line Is It Anyway? and Seinfeld, McShane, who provided the voice of Audrey II in the Menier Chocolate Factory production of Little Shop Of Horrors at the Duke of York’s theatre, last appeared on stage in La Cage Aux Folles on Broadway in 2011.
Playing a limited eight-week season from 14 February, the new musical tells the true story of silent movie star William Haines (Turner) who was fired by Louis B Mayer (McShane) of MGM Studios because of his sexuality.
Directed by Claudio Macor, The Tailor-Made Man will open at the Arts theatre following American Justice, Richard Vergette’s searing play about guilt and redemption in America’s prison system.
