Thank You For The Music, Mamma Mia! London. The globe-conquering musical – beloved on stage and film – has extended its West End residency to Saturday 14 September 2019.
And if that’s not got you shouting Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! for more, Mamma Mia! will celebrate its 20th birthday in London on 6 April 2019.
Having originally opened at London’s Prince Edward Theatre in April 1999, the musical has moved West End theatres a couple of times: first to the Prince of Wales Theatre in 2004, and then on to the Novello Theatre, its current home, in 2012. During this time, over 8.9 million people have opted to Take A Chance on it, spending Money, Money, Money with the show breaking box office records in all three venues.
Mamma Mia! is Judy Craymer’s brilliant amalgamation of ABBA’s timeless songs with an enchanting tale of family and friendship unfolding on a Greek island paradise. Since opening, it has enjoyed monumental success on stage, on international tour, and in the form of two blockbuster films.
The current London stars Sara Poyzer as Donna, with Kate Graham as Tanya, Ricky Butt as Rosie, Richard Trinder as Sam, Neil Moors as Harry, Stephen Beckett as Bill, Georgia Louise as Sophie, and Alec Porter as Sky.
