The forthcoming West End transfer of Tony Award-winning hit Kinky Boots will strut its stuff for longer after the show announced it has extended its booking period until 6 February.
The announcement comes even before those iconic red heels have trodden the boards at the Adelphi Theatre, with the Killian Donnelly and Matt Henry-led production due to begin its run at the venue on 21 August.
Featuring a book by Harvey Fierstein and music by pop icon Cyndi Lauper, Kinky Boots is a joyous musical about friendships and believing you can change the world when you change your mind.
Inspired by real events, the big-hearted, high-heeled hit takes audiences on an incredible journey from a Northampton gentleman’s shoe factory to the glamour of Milan’s dazzling catwalks through the story of Charlie Price.
As Charlie struggles to live up to his father’s expectations and continue the family business, the factory’s future hangs in the balance, until help arrives in the unlikely form of Lola, a fabulous performer in need of some sturdy stilettos.
Jerry Mitchell’s production will begin its run at the Adelphi Theatre following the limited season of current hit Whose Line Is It Anyway?, which ends on 5 July.
