It’s been a chilly day here in London, with autumn well and truly setting in! So cosy on up out of the wind and check out what’s been going on in theatreland today.
Noises Off have released some production images after their opening last week. A farce about a farce, Noises Off was inspired by Michael Frayn’s observation that, while watching a performance of one of his farces from the wings, the play was “funnier from behind than in front.”
The raucous romp about a hopelessly unprepared cast throughout their technical rehearsal and subsequent performances of a farcical play called Nothing On is timelessly funny, and currently on at the Garrick Theatre until January 2020.

Casting was announced for the off-West End European premiere of Jacob Marx Rice’s play Chemistry, which opens for four weeks at the Finborough Theatre on 29 October. Chemistry is a play about mental health and love – how do you trust someone else when you are already in a battle with your own brain?
Chemistry will star Caoimhe Farren (The Ferryman, Derry Girls) as Steph and James Mear (Pardoned) as Jamie. The play will be directed and designed by Alex Howarth, who recently adapted and directed the world stage premiere of What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, working alongside the film’s writer, Peter Hedges.
