Denise Van Outen will bring her one-woman musical play Some Girl I Used To Know to the Arts Theatre this summer following a successful UK tour.

The production, which the actress and TV presenter co-wrote with Terry Ronald, will play at the venue from 22 August to 13 September.

Directed by Michael Howcroft, Some Girl I Used To Know charts the story of Stephanie Canworth, a media darling with a successful career and supportive husband, who receives a Facebook poke from a former love, causing memories of the life she used to live to come flooding back.

The show follows Stephanie’s intimate and funny journey down memory lane with a soundtrack from the 80s and 90s including Soft Cell, Culture Club and Some Girl I Used To Know, a song that Ronald and Steve Anderson wrote specifically for the production.

Well known for her screen appearances as presenter of The Big Breakfast and runner-up on the 2013 series of Strictly Come Dancing, Van Outen returns to the London stage following performances in West End productions of Chicago, Rent, Tell Me On A Sunday and Legally Blonde The Musical.

Some Girl I Used To Know will open at the Arts Theatre following the current residency of spooky hit Ghost Stories. Andy Nyman and Jeremy Dyson’s acclaimed production will close on 17 August.
