West End LIVE, the annual free entertainment festival, will bring the very best that London theatre has to offer to Leicester Square this weekend, and is absolutely free to attend.
The line-ups for each day of the annual celebration of London’s entertainment scene have now been confirmed. The event will be given a carnival atmosphere by opening act Brazil! Brazil!, which will take to the stage at 11:00 on Saturday and will be followed by performances throughout the day by many of London’s favourite productions, coming to a close at 17:45 with a cacophonous Stomp finale.
With more and more shows adding Sunday performances to their schedules, allowing more theatregoers than ever to enjoy a weekend show, West End LIVE’s Sunday line-up is just as exciting as Saturday’s. Among the shows taking part are Thriller Live, Jersey Boys, Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical, Legally Blonde The Musical, Disney’s The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, Into The Woods and dance spectaculars Burn The Floor and Tap Dogs. A full running schedule for West End LIVE can be found at www.westendlive.co.uk
In addition to the many performances running throughout the two-day event, West End LIVE features exhibits and activities from contributors including the London Film Museum, Science Museum, V&A Museum, Little Angel Puppet theatre and Forbidden Planet.
West End LIVE 2010 follows the huge success of last year’s event, which entertained around a quarter of a million people in Leicester Square over the weekend and went on to be voted the People’s Choice Music Event Of The Year at the Visit London Awards.
