Olivier Award-winning cabaret spectacular La Soirée will return to London’s South Bank this Christmas, the show’s producer Mick Perrin has confirmed.
The jaw-dropping, mind-boggling hit, which took home the Best Entertainment & Family Award at the Olivier Awards 2015 with MasterCard, is expected to land at its regular Spiegeltent home on the Thames for a three-month festive season.
Talking to us at the Olivier Awards earlier this month, Perrin said: “The Spiegeltent is a great space and we’ll be back there again this winter, starting probably in November for about 12-weeks so right into January.”
Promising “A heady cocktail of cabaret, new burlesque, circus sideshow and contemporary variety”, La Soirée has previously gobsmacked audiences with acts including acrobats, comedians, hula hoop masters, contortionists and pole dancers with a difference.
Talking about the appeal of the production, which has been staged in numerous venues in London as well as across the globe, Perrin said: “It’s the feel-good factor, you can’t come out without a smile on your face no matter how you were when you went in.”
Theatre fans wanting to see La Soirée pick up its coveted statuette on the night of the glittering Olivier Awards ceremony can still catch the highlights package, which features dazzling performances alongside the prestigious prize-giving, on ITV Player.
Exact dates and the line-up of acts for the show’s festive season are still to be announced.
