Kristin Davis will make her West End debut alongside Mark Bazeley in Trevor Nunn’s forthcoming production of Fatal Attraction when it opens at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in March.
The Sex And The City star will play Bazeley’s onstage wife Beth in the psychological thriller that charts the story of an affair between New York lawyer Dan Gallagher (Bazeley) and Alex Forrest, played by the previously announced Natascha McElhone, whose actions spiral out of control when she seeks revenge on Dan and his family.
Last seen on stage in Nunn’s production of Scenes From A Marriage at the St James Theatre, Bazeley’s theatre credits also include Our New Girl at the Bush and the National Theatre’s production of The Seagull. On screen, he has appeared in hit films including The Bourne Ultimatum, The Queen and The Damned United.
Davis returns to the London stage following her appearance in 2006’s The Exonerated at the Riverside Studios. Though best known for her role as Charlotte in the HBO sitcom about four women living in the Big Apple, the actress has also appeared in television series including Melrose Place and Bad Teacher. In 2012, she made her Broadway stage debut in The Best Man at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.
Bazeley, Davis and McElhone will be joined in the psychological thriller by Jane How (Home And Beauty, Lyric Theatre) and Alex Lowe (The Changeling, Young Vic), who will play Joan and Jimmy respectively.
Based on the 1987 film starring Michael Douglas and Glenn Close, Fatal Attraction is adapted for the stage by the original screenwriter James Deaden and will play at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 11 March to 21 June.
The tale of emotional blackmail and obsession will open following Richard Bean’s hit comedy One Man, Two Guvnors, which comes to the end of its run on 1 March.
