As Kids Week 2011 heads into its third week of offers and activities, more shows have released tickets to the family-friendly initiative.
Hit London productions including Disney’s The Lion King, Shrek The Musical, Jersey Boys and Potted Potter have passed more tickets to the Kids Week team, allowing even more children the opportunity to experience the magic of live theatre.
Kids Week 2011, which launched on 12 August and runs until 4 September, offers the chance for one child aged 16 or younger to see a hit West End show for free with a full paying adult. Another two children can go at half price as part of the deal. So far, nearly 70,000 tickets have been eagerly snapped up as part of the 2011 promotion, but there are still more available in the coming week.
Speaking about Kids Week, Potted Potter’s Daniel Clarkson said: “We are happy and proud that our show is playing a part in the annual West End institution which is Kids Week. It’s great that initiatives such as this enable so many children to experience the excitement and audience interaction which live theatre offers.”
In addition to its family-friendly ticket deals, Kids Week also offers a range of activities for young theatregoers who want to learn more about their favourite show. Among the activities still on offer are a peek behind the scenes at The Lion King and a song and dance workshop with Mamma Mia!
Clarkson’s Potted Potter co-star Jefferson Turner added: “The whole Kids Week ethos of offering children magical opportunities to meet their favourite actors or explore what happens behind the scenes in the West End is brilliant. Hopefully the unforgettable memories they take away will encourage them to return again and again!”
