The time has come: booking lines for Kids Week 2007 are now open, offering thousands of children the chance to go free to over 30 top West End shows during the Kids Week fortnight, 17-31 August.
The Kids Week deal is simple – one child aged 5-16 can go free to any participating show when accompanied by a full-paying adult, and another two children can go for half price. Shows participating this year include The 39 Steps, The Lion King, Fantastic Mr Fox, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Lord Of The Rings, Mamma Mia!, Mary Poppins, Little Shop Of Horrors, The Sound Of Music and many, many more.
Kids Week is 10 years old this year and, to celebrate, there are over 50 free events for young people, making this Kids Week the biggest and best yet. Take part in a dancing workshop with the cast of Fame, learn a routine on stage with the cast of Mamma Mia!, sing-along with Joseph or discover the joys of Scandinavian folk dancing with Monty Python’s Spamalot.
On 16-17 August, Kids Week kicks off with a free outdoor extravaganza in Covent Garden piazza. The event will showcase extracts from top London shows, while children can get involved in dancing, singing and drama activities, with a special marquee for under 5s. As part of the 10th birthday celebrations the launch event will include Talented 10-Year-Olds, a talent contest to find budding young performers to take to the stage in Covent Garden.
