Ramin Karimloo and Samantha Barks have joined the cast of the 25th anniversary concert performance of Les Misérables at the O2 on 3 October.
The duo, who join the already announced Alfie Boe, Matt Lucas, Norm Lewis, Lea Salonga, Jenny Galloway, Camilla Kerslake and Nick Jonas, will be on stage twice that day as an afternoon performance has now been added to the evening show due to public demand.
Both Karimloo and Barks are no stranger to Cameron Mackintosh’s French revolutionary musical. Karimloo, who is currently playing the Phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies, made his West End debut playing Feuilly in Les Misérables at the Queen’s theatre. He later returned to the production to play Enjolras, the role he now reprises for this special anniversary concert.
Barks, a former contestant on the BBC show I’d Do Anything, recently took to the Queen’s theatre stage to play Eponine. The actress will join her colleagues Jonas and Kerslake in reprising the role at the O2.
The concert, held to celebrate the 25th birthday of Les Misérables, will feature a company of over 300 actors and musicians, as well as members of the original 1985 London cast and actors from both the current production at the Queen’s theatre and the anniversary production at the Barbican.
