Humbug! Full casting has been announced for director Matthew Warchus’ upcoming reimagination of the timeless Dickens classic A Christmas Carol, with John Dagleish and Alex Gaumond joining Rhys Ifans in the show.
Harry Potter And The Cursed Child writer Jack Thorne has penned a joyous new adaptation of the seminal festive story, with Dagleish (Sunny Afternoon, West End) and Gaumond (Sweeney Todd, ENO) set to star in the roles of Bob Cratchit and Father/Marley respectively, opposite Ifans as Ebenezer Scrooge.

A Christmas Carol is set on a bitter Christmas Eve night, on which a cold-hearted miser is visited by four ghosts. Transported to worlds past, present and future, Ebenezer Scrooge (Ifans) witnesses what a lifetime of fear and selfishness has led to and sees with fresh eyes the lonely life he has built for himself. Can Ebenezer be saved before it’s too late?
An uplifting story for families aged 11+, the production promises to be an essential festive treat, vividly brought to The Old Vic stage in a big-hearted production full of music and cheer.
