After his popular season of conversations in 2017, Jim Carter will return to the Tricycle Theatre in 2018, speaking with leading industry actors and directors including Kenneth Branagh, Derek Jacobi, Emma Thompson and Imelda Staunton.

All proceeds from the series will support the Tricycle Theatre’s ongoing auditorium renovation project.

This season opens with Carter, well known for his role in Downton Abbey, hosting an In Conversation event with Kenneth Branagh and Derek Jacobi on Monday 19 February at 7.30pm. With a stage career in acting and directing spanning from 1982, Branagh received a knighthood in 2012, and the Special Olivier Award at the 2017 ceremony, while Jacobi has led a prolific acting career over the five past decades, winning two Oliviers in that time.

Carter then hosts another event with the Academy and BAFTA Award-winning actress Emma Thompson and the multi Olivier Award-winning Imelda Staunton, his wife, on Sunday 25 February, also at 7.30pm.

Jim Carter said today, “It’s a mark of the respect and affection that the Tricycle Theatre commands that all the actors on my wish list immediately agreed to support this fundraising project. I think we’re in for two wonderful evenings full of fun and insight and it’s great to be able to give the audience the opportunity to question their favourite actors in person.”

Artistic Director of the Tricycle Theatre, Indhu Rubasingham commented, “I am deeply grateful to Jim and his wonderful, truly inspiring guests who are role models to us all, coming to the Tricycle. This series of conversations will not only be an extraordinary experience, but they will also help us fundraise for the capital project, which will soon see a brand new auditorium.”

Tickets are available for both events through the Tricycle Theatre website.
