Matt Corner will lead a brand new leading cast of West End hit Jersey Boys in the biggest shakeup of the company since its London premiere in 2008.
For the first time in the musical’s West End history, the cast change will see all four leading cast members replaced with Corner (Valli) joined by Simon Bailey, Declan Egan, Matt Hunt (The Four Seasons) and Dayle Hodge (alternate Valli) from 15 March.
All five come with perfect experience to don the band’s iconic red jackets. Corner, who was last seen in the West End in We Will Rock You, and Hodge (Les Misérables, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) join the West End company direct from Jersey Boys’ acclaimed UK and Ireland touring production, while Teatro star Bailey boasts an impressive list of West End credits including The Phantom Of The Opera, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and I Can’t Sing! The X Factor Musical.
Egan and Hunt have both also starred in touring productions of the show in their native Australia and New Zealand. While the casting news marks Egan’s West End debut, Hunt has been appearing in the show since 2014 as Norm Waxman.
The new quintet will join the cast just in time to celebrate the show’s eighth anniversary in London on 18 March. A West End favourite, the critically acclaimed show has now been seen by a staggering 23 million people worldwide and continues to wow audiences with its fascinating real-life tale of the legendary group and a score packed with Frankie Valli And The Four Seasons hits.
Also joining the cast on 15 March are Mark Dugdale, Leanne Garretty, Will Haswell, Mark Heenehan, Joe Maxwell, Nathaniel Morrison and Dan O’Brien.
