Acclaimed actor, comedian, television and radio presenter Jason Manford has been announced as the host of the Olivier Awards 2017 with Mastercard.
The hilarious Mancunian personality, whose famous wit and warmth has translated into a multi-award winning stage career, will oversee proceedings at the glamorous Awards ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 9 April.
Manford has certainly made his mark treading the boards in recent years to spectacular results, having starred in the role of Pirelli in the musical Sweeney Todd at the Adelphi Theatre in July 2012.
He followed this by starring in a national tour of Mel Brooks’ The Producers in the coveted role of Leo Bloom, winning critical acclaim, and subsequently performed as Caractacus Potts in the recent UK tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang opposite the likes of Phill Jupitus, Martin Kemp, Carrie Hope Fletcher, Michelle Collins and Claire Sweeney.
