I was lucky enough to see Lazarus at the King’s Cross Theatre on Friday. The show is wonderfully enigmatic, full of sheer originality and some of the most impressive use of video projection seen on stage. David Bowie’s music is a huge draw of the show, with new songs that he wrote for the Broadway production, plus special arrangements of Bowie staples including Changes, All The Young Dudes and Life On Mars. However, the central performances should not go unmentioned. Michael C Hall is charismatic and dynamic as Newton (who is also my new spirit animal: “I watch television and drink gin”), and Sophia Anne Caruso dazzles as Girl, Newton’s fellow lost soul.
I met with Sophia at her flat in central London to chat about being in the show, London vs New York and meeting the great David Bowie himself. Watch the video above!
Lazarus is playing at the King’s Cross Theatre until 22 January 2017. Book your tickets today.
