Hit musical In The Heights has lengthened its run in London and will now play at the King’s Cross Theatre until 30 October.
The hugely popular show has added six months to its run. It had previously been booking to 10 April.
Co-created by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the man behind current Broadway sensation Hamilton, In The Heights tells the story of a community living in Manhattan’s vibrant Washington Heights. What the community lacks in material wealth, it makes up for in hopes and dreams. With three generations living shoulder to shoulder, not everyone has the same idea about what those aspirations should be.
The show, directed by Luke Sheppard with choreography by Drew McOnie, was first seen in London at Southwark Playhouse in 2014. It proved so popular that it was revived in the purpose-built home of The Railway Children in King’s Cross last year.
The production currently stars Olivier Award winner David Bedella, former Sugababe Jade Ewen, Lily Frazer, Sam Mackay, Josie Benson, Vas Constanti, Philippa Stefani, Antoine Murray-Staughan, Sarah Naudi, Eve Polycarpou, Joe Aaron Reid and Cleve September.
