Is it us, or did the temperature just go up a notch? First rehearsal images have been released of David Oakes and Natalie Dormer in Venus In Fur, a seductive and intoxicating dark comedy headed for the West End.
And from the looks of things, Venus In Fur promises to be as sultry, electrifying and tense watch as you might expect.
Be sure to check out our interview with the star duo on how rehearsals have been going – initial awkwardness/hysteria and all.
Venus In Fur is a critically acclaimed two-hander that follows a meeting between enigmatic actress Vanda Jordan (Dormer) and director Thomas Novachek (Oakes).
Vanda appears unannounced for an audition with Thomas, determined to land the leading role in his new production – despite seeming wrong for the part.
Over one evening in downtown Manhattan their charged meeting becomes a seductive dance to the end, in an intoxicating dark comedy of desire, fantasy and the innate love of fur.
The production is directed by Patrick Marber, and runs for a strictly limited nine week engagement at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 6 October to 9 December.
