The prolific Simon Stephens masterfully reinvents Chekhov’s classic play of art, love, and their potent, destructive mix – rehearsals for the Lyric Hammersmith’s The Seagull are well underway.
Legendary actress Lesley Sharp stars as Irina Arkadina in this tale whch evaluates the burning need to create – and crush the creation of others. If you’ve ever shown off your work in any capacity, The Seagull is a play which will resonate with you.
So it’s safe to say we’re more than a touch excited for the Lyric Hammersmith show, which is directed by Artistic Director Sean Holmes.
The cast also includes Adelayo Adedayo, Michele Austin, Lloyd Cooney, Nicholas Gleaves, Paul Higgins, Lloyd Hutchinson, Cherrelle Skeete, Raphael Sowole, Nicolas Tennant and Brian Vernel.
