The prospect of a new Conor McPherson play has us aquiver with anticipation, so we were delighted to get a glimpse of rehearsals for The Night Alive.
The new piece from the writer of the Olivier Award-winning The Weir is the tale of Tommy, a man getting through life on get quick rich schemes and renting a room at his Uncle’s house. When he meets Aimee, who herself has had to struggle, there is the chance that together they could make something of their lives. But the past won’t let go easily.
What more can we learn about the production, which will also be directed by McPherson, from Hugh O’Conor’s pictures? It’s hard to say, it’s a rehearsal room after all, but Game Of Thrones and Above Suspicion star Ciarán Hinds is sporting hair that is distinctly longer than usual and there’s much tea being drunk.
