When it was announced in June that Lindsay Lohan was to make her stage debut in London, we – along with the rest of the theatre industry and beyond – could hardly believe it.
But now, as photographer Simon Annand invites us into the Speed-The-Plow rehearsal room, the Mean Girls actress’ first foray into theatre is very much a reality.
Take a look at the gallery above to see the star as she prepares to tread the boards for the first time with the help of a cast and creative team full of fellow namesakes including co-star Nigel Lindsay and director Lindsay Posner.
Charting the story of film producers Bobby Gould and Charlie Fox, Speed-The-Plow centres on Karen’s exploits as she persuades Bobby to dump what should be a sure-fire hit in exchange for a story that is box office poison. As her hold on Bobby is revealed, Charlie is forced to resort to desperate measures.
While Annand’s images do little to give anything away, we’d say that Lohan looks very much at home in her forthcoming role. All that remains is to wait until 24 September, when the show begins previews at the Playhouse Theatre, to see the film star in all her glory on stage.
