In rehearsal: Macbeth at Shakespeare’s Globe

First Published 8 June 2016, Last Updated 6 June 2018

Something wicked comes to Shakespeare’s Globe this month, judging by these intriguing and spooky Macbeth rehearsal shots.

The latest photographs from Macbeth reveal what appears to be a mangled, severed head, a baby’s corpse and some large, decapitated hands. Director Iqbal Khan is pictured with the aforementioned head, suggesting that his take on one of Shakespeare’s bloodiest plays will be pulling no punches on the gore front. Thankfully the cast don’t seem too worried about it, and there are still smiles aplenty for this next installment in Emma Rice’s Wonder Season.

Macbeth runs at Shakespeare’s Globe from 18 June to 1 October. You can book tickets through the theatre’s website.
