In rehearsal: Henry V

First Published 14 June 2016, Last Updated 14 June 2016

The English footballing squad is currently toiling away on French soil, the English public are debating all things European Union at home, and Shakespeare’s international influence is being celebrated in the year of the 400th anniversary of his death. It’s fair to say that Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre’s upcoming production of the Bard’s Anglo-French war epic holds more striking relevance this summer than a fresh batch of subject matter hot from the topic bakery.

And if the latest rehearsal snaps are anything to go by, preparations are well and truly underway for a très bon Henry V indeed. With Olivier Award-winning actress Michelle Terry at the helm and clearly enjoying her newfound regal status, the latest “band of brothers” to tackle the Bard’s dramatisation of the English forces’ 15th Century invasion of France is sure to result in at least a “happy few” audience members, if not plenty more.

Take a peek at what’s been going on in the rehearsal room, share in our excitement for an evening under the stars, and allow yourself to be transported to the battlegrounds of France from the comfort of London’s beautiful parkland.

Henry V previews at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre from 17 June to 9 July. You can book tickets through the venue’s website.
