For a noir-inspired musical, Katherine Kelly, Samantha Barks and co seem to be having a remarkably light-hearted time in rehearsals for City Of Angels.
That’s right, everyone seems to be having far too much fun putting together what might be one of the most highly anticipated musical productions in a year filled with highly anticipated musical productions.
Considering Cy Coleman’s modern classic revolves around the tale of writer and his private eye hero, missing women and treacherous temptations, there’s not a trilby or a trenchcoat in sight. And I can’t see an interior monologue anywhere… Of course, I also can’t see leading man Hadley Fraser either, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be in the production, does it?
Frankly we’re all rather excited about the Donmar Warehouse production, and given the show doesn’t start previewing until next Friday, these images have given us all the encouragement we need to start describing our actions out loud and in the past tense… which shouldn’t annoy the rest of the office at all.
