While TV viewers and critics have been singing the praises of Rob Brydon for his part in Paralympic drama The Best Of Men, the Welsh actor has been beavering away on his latest project, the revival of A Chorus Of Disapproval.
The Gavin And Stacey star plays the zealous director of Pendon Amateur Light Operatic Society in Alan Ayckbourn’s comedy in which on stage drama is mirrored by romantic rivalry and small town squabbles in the wings.
How much of Brydon’s characterisation will be based on the show’s actual director, Sir Trevor Nunn, we can only guess, but these pictures from Catherine Ashmore, do give us a glimpse into A Chorus Of Disapproval’s rehearsal process and the work being done by Brydon and co-stars including Nigel Harman, Ashley Jensen and Daisy Beaumont before the show opens at the Harold Pinter theatre next month.
