It isn’t every day you get to enjoy your lunch to the sound of some of the West End’s greatest show tunes, but this afternoon Londoners were chomping their sarnies and supping their cold drinks while watching performances from some of the capital’s best-loved musicals.
Why? To get in the mood for this weekend’s West End LIVE, of course, when Trafalgar Square will be awash with musical theatre fans eager to see performances from more than 20 London shows at the incredible free festival.
Today’s special preview event, which took place on the sun-drenched roof garden in Victoria’s Cardinal Place, offered a taste of what to expect, with our favourite Victoria-based long-runners Wicked and Billy Elliot The Musical, Richard Eyre’s hit revival of The Pajama Game, musical theatre regular Julie Atherton, Big Dance and The Dreamers all performing for the crowds.
