Once a year, as the nights begin to draw in and the children are safely back in the school education system, the stars of the London stage perform a charity extravaganza that is not for the easily shocked.
These usually demure dancers and pristine performers shun their customary costumes in favour of more revealing attire, which is fairly swiftly removed anyway, to raise money for theatrical charity The Make A Difference Trust.
Known as West End Bares, this delicious festival of flesh-baring fun was staged last weekend, when it brought a very different atmosphere to the classic murder mystery with its theme Nude Dunnit.
Musical theatre favourite and West End Bares regular Summer Strallen, Mamma Mia’s Kim Ismay, The Gershwins’ Porgy And Bess’s Leon Lopez and London newcomer Eva Noblezada were all among the stars taking part in the burlesque fun along with a host of the London stage’s finest.
Photographer Darren Bell was there to capture the highlights.
