It may have been a soggy, chilly January in old London town but, by golly, things are as hot as ever in From Here To Eternity if these images are anything to go by.
The new musical, featuring lyrics by the iconic Tim Rice and music by newcomer Stuart Brayson, may have announced an earlier closing date than planned, but that hasn’t stopped goings-on at the Shaftesbury Theatre becoming as steamy as an overexcited iron. Tops are off, embraces are sultry and you can almost smell the sweat.
Based on James Jones’ 1951 novel, From Here To Eternity is set in Pearl Harbor in 1941, where US infantry unit G Company is based. Two love affairs, one between a private and an escort, the other between a sergeant and his commanding officer’s wife, set lives on an uncontrollable course.
The production, which is set to close on 29 March, features a cast including Darius Campbell, Siubhan Harrison, Robert Lonsdale, Rebecca Thornhill and Ryan Sampson.
