Tu I Teraz (Here & Now), a play about immigration and family ties, is the latest production to be announced for Hampstead theatre’s Downstairs space.

The play, written by Nicola Werenowska, tells the story of Polish immigrant Marysia who moved to England many years ago and has started a new life here with her teenage son. When her sister arrives from Poland, it forces her to reconsider her choices and whether she has, really, left everything behind. It runs at Hampstead Theatre Downstairs from 18 December to 19 January.

The winter production, which features a cast including Ania Sowinski (Troilus And Cressida at Shakespeare’s Globe), George Lasha (Bluebeard at Bristol Old Vic) and Guildhall graduate Anna Elijasz.

Tu I Teraz follows another play concerned with outsiders and identity in Hampstead’s smaller space. Steve Waters’ Ignorance/Jahiliyyah, which opened earlier this week, is the tale of American students struggling to accept a stranger and the ramifications 60 years later.
