The St Petersburg Ballet Theatre’s full-length classic Swan Lake, which returns to the London Coliseum this summer, has announced an exciting array of guest stars.
Led by prima ballerina Irina Kolesnikova, Swan Lake will also star principal dancers from the Bolshoi Ballet, Denis Rodkin and Anna Nikulina, and Mariinsky Theatre’s principal dancer Kimin Kim.
Kolesnikova and Rodkin will dance the roles of Odette/Odile and Prince Siegfried respectively, with Nikulina and Kim dancing the roles at selected performances.
St Petersburg Ballet Theatre’s 2015 season in the West End was a spectacular success, with over 25,000 seats sold. Founded in 1994, St Petersburg Ballet Theatre is renowned globally not just for its beautiful Vaganova trained dancers, but also its sunning internationally touring productions of the likes of Giselle, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty.
Producer Andrew Guild said: “We are thrilled to welcome Anna Nikulina, Denis Rodkin and Kimin Kim as guest stars of St Petersburg Ballet Theatre’s Swan Lake. Without doubt, Swan Lake is the world’s most famous classical ballet.”
Playing from Wednesday 22 August to Sunday 26 August, Swan Lake is the classic love story about a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer’s curse.
With gorgeous traditionally painted backdrops, Tchaikovsky’s moving score, a full-sized orchestra and critically acclaimed dancers, St Peterburg Ballet Theatre’s show is undoubtedly one everyone must experience.
