Gazey and Head meet on Third Floor

First Published 16 August 2011, Last Updated 16 August 2011

Craig Gazey and Emily Head are to appear in thriller Third Floor at Trafalgar Studios from 11 October to 5 November (press night 13 October).

Third Floor is a new play by Canadian playwright Jason Hall which centres on a young woman buying her first flat. She thinks all her dreams are coming true, until she meets her brash, overbearing neighbour, who she can’t help but find strangely attractive. When an innocent prank goes horribly wrong, the friendship is pushed to breaking point and the neighbours begin to realise they don’t know as much about each other as they thought.

Gazey is probably best known for his three years playing Graeme Proctor on Coronation Street, which he left earlier this year. His stage pedigree includes work for the Royal Shakespeare Company and Richard Bean’s Harvest at the Royal Court.

Head, daughter of actor Anthony Head, is familiar to viewers of E4 comedy drama The Inbetweeners and the subsequent film adaptation which is currently in cinemas.

Third Floor is directed by Russell Labey, who returns to Trafalgar Studios after directing his own adaptation of New Boy there in 2009.

Currently playing at Trafalgar Studios 2 is new comedy musical Betwixt!, which ends its extended run on 10 September. Third Floor is followed by the second Donmar Trafalgar season, which includes three plays directed by graduates of the Donmar Warehouse’s Resident Assistant Director scheme.
