Jonathan Ansell, best known as one quarter of X-Factor contestants G4, will lead the cast of A Tale Of Two Cities when it opens in April.
Ansell rose to fame as the lead singer of the operatic pop group in 2004, when they finished as runners up in the first series of X Factor. Since going solo in 2007, he released two hit albums before trying his hand at musical theatre and starring in productions including Whistle Down The Wind and Beauty And The Beast. He also performed as part of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s birthday concert in Hyde Park.
Ansell will play Charles Darney in the musical adaptation of Dickens’s famous novel, which follows one man’s ultimate sacrifice for love set against the backdrop of the French Revolution and 18th century London society.
The production, which is produced and directed by Paul Nicholas, will run at the Charing Cross theatre.
